For an elementary school in Dordrecht, an extension has been designed in which the daycare is connected to the elementary school.
In this way children and parents are introduced to the primary school at an early stage and a natural transition can take place during the school years.
Presentations and exhibitions can be performed on stage, but also children of all ages can play on the structure during the breaks. In addition, children's work can be presented on the long wall that flankes the corridor between the school and the daycare.
The roof counteracts the southern orientation of the large glass façades, allowing plenty of daylight and little sunlight to penetrate into the building.
